Day 1: Paro Arrival – Thimphu50 km | Approx. 1.5–2 Hours | Welcome to Bhutan, the Land of the Thunder Dragon. Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, meet your representative and begin your scenic drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s charming capital city. En route, visit Chuzom, the confluence of the Paro and Thimphu rivers, where small shrines showcase different Bhutanese architectural styles. Continue to Tamchog Lhakhang, a historic temple associated with the legendary iron-chain bridge. On arrival in Thimphu, visit the Buddha Dordenma Statue at Kuensel Phodrang, one of Bhutan’s most impressive landmarks, offering panoramic views of the Thimphu Valley. Later, visit Tashichho Dzong, an impressive fortress-monastery and an important center of Bhutanese government and religion. Check in to your hotel and relax.

Day 2: Thimphu Sightseeing 
After Breakfast, enjoy a full-day sightseeing tour of Thimphu and discover the city’s unique blend of Bhutanese traditions and modern life. Begin with a visit to the Durga/Shiv Temple, followed by Buddha Dordenma and Coronation Park, where you can enjoy beautiful views of the valley. Continue to the Motithang Takin Preserve, home to Bhutan’s unusual national animal, the takin. Visit the Memorial Chorten, one of Thimphu’s most popular religious landmarks, where locals gather daily for prayer and circumambulation. Later, explore Tashichho Dzong and visit Simply Bhutan, a living museum showcasing traditional Bhutanese culture, clothing, crafts, food, and the national sport of archery. (Simply Bhutan is closed on Tuesdays.)Return to your hotel after sightseeing.

Day 3: Thimphu – Punakha75 km | Approx. 3 Hours 
After Breakfast, check out and drive from Thimphu to Punakha, enjoying spectacular Himalayan scenery along the way. Your first stop is Simtokha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s oldest fortresses and an important historical monument. Continue to Dochula Pass, situated at approximately 3,100 meters above sea level. The pass is famous for its 108 Druk Wangyal Chortens and, on clear days, panoramic views of the Himalayan mountains. Descend into the warmer Punakha Valley and visit Chhimi Lhakhang, also known as the Fertility Temple, associated with the revered Bhutanese saint Drukpa Kunley, popularly known as the Divine Madman. Continue to Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s most beautiful and historically significant fortresses, dramatically located at the confluence of the Mo Chhu and Pho Chhu rivers. Later, walk across the colorful Punakha Suspension Bridge, decorated with Buddhist prayer flags and offering beautiful views of the surrounding valley. Check in to your hotel.

Day 4: Punakha – Paro125 km | Approx. 4–5 Hours
After Breakfast, check out and drive towards Paro, one of Bhutan’s most picturesque valleys. Upon arrival, visit
Ta Dzong, the National Museum of Bhutan, a historic circular watchtower housing an impressive collection of Bhutanese art, artifacts, and cultural treasures. Continue to Rinpung Dzong, one of Paro’s most important architectural landmarks. Admire its traditional Bhutanese architecture and beautiful valley surroundings. Cross the historic Nya Mey Zam Bridge, then continue to Paro town. Spend some time exploring the local streets, shops, and traditional Bhutanese architecture at your own pace. Check in to your hotel and relax.

Day 5: Paro – Tiger’s Nest Monastery Excursion
After Breakfast, prepare for the highlight of your Bhutan holiday package – the hike to the legendary Taktsang Monastery, popularly known as Tiger’s Nest. Perched dramatically on a cliff approximately 900 meters above the Paro Valley, Tiger’s Nest is Bhutan’s most iconic landmark. According to Bhutanese tradition, Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) arrived at this sacred location on the back of a tigress and meditated here. The uphill trek generally takes around 2–3 hours one way, depending on your fitness level and pace. The trail passes through beautiful pine forests and mountain landscapes before reaching the spectacular monastery viewpoint. An optional horse ride to the viewpoint is available at your own expense, subject to local conditions and availability. Please note that horses generally cover only the uphill portion to the viewpoint; the descent is on foot. After exploring Tiger’s Nest, return to Paro and enjoy a relaxing evening.
