Day 1 – Arrival at Madurai
On arrival at Madurai airport, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel. After freshening up, set out to explore the city. Visit the magnificent Meenakshi Amman Temple, dedicated to Goddess Meenakshi and Lord Sundareswarar, and admire its towering gopurams and thousand-pillar hall. Later, visit Thirumalai Nayak Palace, an impressive 17th-century palace built in Indo-Saracenic style, followed by Koodal Azhagar Temple, an ancient Vishnu shrine in the heart of the city. In the evening, stroll through the bustling local markets. Overnight stay in Madurai.
Day 2 – Madurai ➝ Rameswaram (170 km / 4 hrs drive)
After breakfast, drive to Rameswaram, one of the most sacred pilgrimage destinations for Hindus. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel. Day 3 – Rameswaram ➝ Dhanushkodi Sightseeing
Today, after breakfast, proceed for a half-day excursion to Dhanushkodi, a mystical ghost town located at the southern tip of Rameswaram. Here you can see the confluence of the Bay of Bengal and the Indian Ocean, along with remnants of the old town destroyed by a cyclone in 1964. Visit Ram Setu (Adam’s Bridge) viewpoint and enjoy the scenic beauty of the coastline. Return to Rameswaram by afternoon. Later, visit Agnitheertham Beach, a vital pilgrimage bathing site. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Rameswaram.
Day 4 – Rameswaram ➝ Madurai Departure (170 km / 4 hrs drive)
After an early breakfast, drive back to Madurai. If time permits, you can stop at Pamban Bridge to enjoy panoramic views of the sea. On reaching Madurai, depending on your departure schedule, you may visit any last-minute sights or markets. Finally, you will be dropped off at Madurai airport for your onward journey with divine blessings and memorable experiences.
