Gupt Kashi, meaning "Hidden Benares," has a fascinating history tied to the Pandava brothers who sought Lord Shiva. According to myth, Lord Shiva concealed himself at Gupt Kashi before finally fleeing to Kedarnath. The Kedarnath pandas, or pilgrimage priests, stay in Gupt Kashi during winter, further connecting both locations.
