Day 1: Bangalore to Munnar – Travel and Relax
Start early from Bangalore and travel to Munnar (approximately 9-10 hours by road or overnight bus/train to Cochin then drive). Check in to your hotel or guesthouse and rest after the journey. Spend the evening exploring the local town or just relaxing amidst tea plantations.
Day 2: Munnar – Trek to Anamudi Peak Base Camp
After breakfast, prepare for a moderate trek to the Anamudi Peak base camp, South India’s highest peak. The trek will take you through beautiful tea estates, dense shola forests, and open grasslands. Camp overnight near the base to experience the tranquility of the hills.
Day 3: Summit Anamudi Peak and Transfer to Wayanad
Wake up early for the summit trek to Anamudi Peak (2695 meters). Enjoy spectacular views of the Western Ghats from the top. After descending, return to Munnar and then drive to Wayanad (4-5 hours). Check in and relax for the evening.
Day 4: Wayanad – Trek to Chembra Peak and Local Sightseeing
Start the day early with the famous Chembra Peak trek, which includes a visit to the heart-shaped lake on the way. This moderately challenging trek lasts about 4-5 hours round trip. In the afternoon, visit local attractions such as Edakkal Caves or relax at your accommodation.
Day 5: Wayanad to Coorg – Trek to Tadiandamol Peak
Travel early from Wayanad to Coorg (around 5-6 hours). Upon arrival, embark on the trek to Tadiandamol Peak, the highest peak in Coorg. This trek passes through dense forests, coffee plantations, and grasslands, offering stunning views from the summit. Spend the night in Coorg.
Day 6: Coorg – Visit Abbey Falls and Return to Bangalore
After breakfast, visit the scenic Abbey Falls, surrounded by lush coffee plantations. You can enjoy a short nature walk in the area. Later, begin your journey back to Bangalore (approximately 6-7 hours by road), concluding your trekking adventure.
