Jatayu Earth’s Center – Where Mythology Meets Adventure in Kerala

Perched atop the rugged hills of Chadayamangalam in Kollam, Jatayu Earth’s Center (also known as Jatayu Nature Park) is one of Kerala’s most spectacular tourist attractions — a magnificent blend of myth, art, nature, and adventure. Home to the world’s largest bird sculpture, this unique destination celebrates Kerala’s rich mythology while offering thrilling experiences in the lap of nature.
Spanning over 65 acres across four hills, Jatayu Earth’s Center isn’t just a monument — it’s a symbol of valor, freedom, and environmental harmony.
A Legendary Tale Carved in Stone
The centerpiece of the park is the majestic sculpture of Jatayu, the mythical eagle from the Indian epic Ramayana. According to legend, Jatayu fell here after bravely fighting to save Sita from Ravana.
The colossal sculpture — measuring 200 feet long, 150 feet wide, and 70 feet high — is a masterpiece by sculptor Rajiv Anchal. It holds the record as the largest functional bird sculpture in the world, with an interior museum and 12D theater that bring the legend to life.
Standing atop the Jatayupara Hill, the sculpture overlooks breathtaking views of Kerala’s valleys and forests, making it a sight that’s both spiritually uplifting and visually awe-inspiring.
