3 Days 2 Nights Kedharnath Yatra (Kedarnath by Helicopter)
Day 01: Haridwar - Guptkashi (210kms/7-8hr) HT: 1319 MTS.
Begin your journey with a pickup from Haridwar or Dehradun Airport, then drive straight to Guptkashi. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel. In the evening, visit the Ardha Narishwar Temple, followed by an overnight stay at the hotel. The name Gupt Kashi translates to "Hidden Benares." According to mythology, when the Pandava brothers sought a glimpse of Lord Shiva, He first concealed Himself in Gupt Kashi before moving further up to Kedarnath, where the Pandavas ultimately fulfilled their wish. There are also practical ties; during winter, the hereditary pilgrimage priests from the Kedarnath temple reside in Gupt Kashi. When the Kedarnath temple closes for winter, the idol is taken through Gupt Kashi before being relocated to Ukhimath for the season. The weather is generally pleasant in the summer, with temperatures ranging from 25 to 30 degrees Celsius, while winters can be pretty cold.
Day 02: Guptkashi – Phata Helipad (10kms) - Kedarnath – Phata (By Helicopter) – Guptkashi
In the morning, drive to Phata (Helipad) for a helicopter transfer to Kedarnath. Visit the renowned Kedarnath Temple, where visitors can enter the Garbha Griha and touch the idol or prostrate before the deity. Return to Phata and then drive back to Guptkashi for a restful day at leisure, with an overnight stay. Kedarnath is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, nestled against the majestic backdrop of the Kedarnath range. According to legend, after their victory in the Kurukshetra war, the Pandavas felt guilty for having killed their kin and sought Lord Shiva's blessings for redemption. Evading them, Lord Shiva took refuge in the form of a bull, later diving into the ground, leaving behind His hump. His remaining forms manifested at four other sites: Tungnath (arms), Rudranath (face), Madhmaheshwar (belly), and Kalpeshwar (locks), all revered as part of the Panch Kedar.
Day 03: Guptkashi – Rishikesh - Haridwar (7- 8 hr)
Drive to Rishikesh, known as the "place of sages," a renowned spiritual town on the banks of the Ganga, surrounded by the Shivalik range. It is said that when Raibhya Rishi performed intense penance, God appeared as "Hrishikesh," giving the area its name. Explore Rishikesh’s temples and sightseeing spots, including Laxman Jhulla, Ram Jhulla, Triveni Ghat, Bharat Mandir, and Shivananda Ashram. Afterward, transfer to the Haridwar Railway Station to conclude your journey.
