4 Days 3 Nights Badrinath Yatra (Ex-Haridwar)

Day 01: Haridwar / Dehradun Airport – Devprayag – Rudraprayag – Karnprayag – Nandprayag – Joshimath (276kms/9hrs)
In the morning, you will be picked up from Haridwar Railway Station or Dehradun Airport and proceed directly to Joshimath, visiting the four Prayags along the way. Upon arrival in Joshimath, you will check into your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay.

Joshimath is perched on the slopes above the confluence of the Alaknanda and Dhauliganga rivers. It is one of the four Mathas established by Adi Shankaracharya and serves as the winter abode of Badrinath, where the deity is brought for worship during the colder months. The town also features several other temples, the most significant being the Narsingh Temple, which houses a deity of Lord Vishnu. Local belief holds that once the left arm of this deity disintegrates, the Badrinath valley will vanish, and the divine retreat will shift to the Niti Valley at Bhavishya Badri.

Day 02: Joshimath - Badrinath (44kms/3hr)  HT: 3133 MTS.
After breakfast, visit the Narsingh Temple and the Shankracharya Math in Joshimath. Later, drive to Badrinath via Vishnuprayag (the 5th Prayag). Upon arrival at Badrinath, check into your hotel. In the afternoon, visit the Badrinath Temple. Pilgrims traditionally bathe in the Taptkund before having Darshan of Badrivishal. Brahmakapal here is significant for the Pinddan Shraddh rituals for ancestors. Visit other nearby spots such as Mana, Vyas Gufa, Maatamoorti, Charanpaduka, Bhimkund, and the "Mukh" of the Saraswati River, all within 3 km of Badrinath. In the evening, return for the Aarti at Badrinath Temple and then to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Badrinath, one of the 'Four Dhams', is a revered pilgrimage site situated at 3,133 meters, flanked by the Nar and Narayan mountain ranges with the stunning Neelkanth Peak as a backdrop. The area was once lush with wild berries, hence the name "Badri van."

Must-visit sites in Badrinath include:
- Tapt Kund: Natural hot springs beside the Alaknanda River, where bathing is customary before entering the temple.
- Narad Kund: A pool near Tapt Kund where the Badrinath idol was once found.
- Brahama Kapal: A platform where Hindus honor their deceased ancestors.
- Sheshnetra: A boulder with an impression of the legendary serpent, the Sheshnag’s eye.
- Charanpaduka: A beautiful meadow with the footprint of Lord Vishnu.
- Mata Murty Temple: Dedicated to the mother of Badrinathji and other temples like Sesh Netra Temple and Urvashi Temple.
- Mana Village: The last Indian village before Tibet, inhabited by an Indo-Mongolian tribe.
- Vasundhara: A magnificent waterfall located 5 km from Badrinath.
Bhim Pul is a natural rock bridge over the Saraswati River, believed to have been placed by Bhim, one of the Pandava brothers.
- Vyas Gufa: A cave where Ved Vyas is said to have composed the Mahabharata.

Day 03: Badrinath – Rudraprayag (165kms/7hr)
In the morning, visit the Badrinath Temple and other significant sites before returning to Rudraprayag. Optionally, you can take a ropeway ride to Auli from Joshimath. Arrive in Rudraprayag and check into your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay.

Rudraprayag is a town in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand and is known for being one of the Panch Prayag, where the Alaknanda River meets the Mandakini River. The sacred city of Kedarnath is situated 86 km from here. The area is also famous for connecting to the legendary man-eating leopard featured in Jim Corbett's writings.

Day 04: Rudraprayag – Rishikesh - Haridwar / Dehradun Airport (160kms/5-6hr)
After breakfast, drive to Rishikesh, known as the 'place of sages' and a celebrated spiritual town on the banks of the Ganga, surrounded by the Shivalik range of the Himalayas. It is said that when the sage Raibhya performed penance, God manifested as "Hrishikesh," giving the town its name.
Explore Rishikesh by visiting local temples and iconic sights such as Laxman Jhulla, Ram Jhulla, Triveni Ghat, Bharat Mandir, and Shivananda Ashram.
After your visit, return to Haridwar Railway Station or Dehradun Airport as your tour concludes.
