Day 1 – Arrival at Trichy ➝ Thanjavur (60 km / 1.5 hrs)(No meal)
On your arrival at Trichy, our team will greet you and assist with your drive towards Thanjavur, which is about 60 km away and takes nearly 1.5 hours by road. Upon reaching, you will visit the grand Brihadeeswarar Temple (Periya Kovil), a UNESCO World Heritage site and a masterpiece of Chola architecture. Later, explore the Royal Palace Complex and the Saraswathi Mahal Library, one of Asia’s oldest repositories of manuscripts. In the evening, enjoy the cultural charm of the temple town before checking in to your hotel in Thanjavur for an overnight stay.
Day 2 – Thanjavur ➝ Kumbakonam (40 km / 1 hr)(b)
After breakfast, drive to Kumbakonam, located about 40 km away, and it takes around 1 hour. Kumbakonam is a sacred town known for its temples and heritage. Begin with a visit to the Adi Kumbeswarar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, and then proceed to the Sarangapani Temple, which is one of the 108 Divya Desams. Today, you will begin the Navagraha circuit exploration around Kumbakonam. Start with Suriyanar Kovil (Sun God), followed by Thingaloor (Moon God) and Vaitheeswaran Kovil (Mars), each located within a drive of 20–30 km. In the afternoon, continue towards Thiruvengadu (Mercury) and Keezhperumpallam (Ketu). The circuit covers approximately 120 km in total and requires around 5–6 hours, including temple visits. Return to Kumbakonam for an overnight stay.
Day 4 – More Navagraha Temples (130 km / 5 hrs including visits)(b)
After breakfast, proceed to the remaining Navagraha temples. Begin with Kanjanoor (Sukran – Venus) and then continue to Thirunageswaram (Rahu), both within 15–20 km of Kumbakonam. Later, drive about 35 km (1 hr) to visit Alangudi (Guru – Jupiter) and finally head towards Thirunallar (Sani – Saturn), which is located around 60 km (2 hrs) away. After completing darshan, return to Kumbakonam for an overnight stay.
Day 5 – Kumbakonam ➝ Trichy (90 km / 2.5 hrs) ➝ Departure(b)
On your final day, enjoy a relaxed breakfast before starting your return journey of about 90 km (2.5 hrs) to Trichy.
