9 Days 8 Nights Chardham Yatra (Kedarnath By Helicopter)
Day 01: Haridwar - Barkot (210kms/7-8hr) HT: 1352 MTS.
Pickup from Haridwar Railway Station / Dehradun Airport. Drive to Barkot via Mussoorie, with a visit to Kempty Fall (great spot for lunch, as options are limited until Barkot). Afterward, continue to Barkot and check into your hotel. Spend the rest of the day relaxing and preparing for the next trek to Yamunotri. Overnight in Barkot. Barkot is scenic, situated at the confluence of the Yamuna and Tons rivers, surrounded by apple orchards and the Himalayan range. It’s a vital pit stop for the Char Dham pilgrimage. Weather: Pleasant in summer (25-30°C); cool in winter (10 to 5°C at night).
Day 02: Barkot - Yamunotri - Barkot (36kms drive & 6kms Trek one way) HT: 3291 MTS.
Early morning drive to Jankichatti/Phoolchatti and trek (6km) to Yamunotri, either by foot, horse, or doli at your expense. The path features lush valleys and diverse flora.
At Yamunotri, you can cook rice in the hot spring water as "Prasad" and do the Pooja. After a dip in Jamunabai Kund, return to Jankichatti and to Barkot for the night. Yamunotri, the westernmost Char Dham shrine, is where the Yamuna River begins from the Champasar Glacier. Weather: Summer temperatures range from 18°C to a minimum of 10°C.
Day 03: Barkot - Uttarkashi (90kms/4hr) HT: 1352 MTS.
Drive to Uttarkashi and visit Vishwanath Temple, among others. Overnight stay at the hotel, with leisure time to explore the town.
Uttarkashi, located on the Ganges, has several ashrams known as "Saumya Varanasi."
Day 04: Uttarkashi - Gangotri - Uttarkashi (100kms/3-4hr each way) HT: 3048 MTS
Early drive to Gangotri, with a stop at Gangnani hot springs. Upon reaching Gangotri, dip in the Ganges, perform your Pooja, and enjoy the area's beauty before returning to Uttarkashi. Gangotri Temple, built in the 18th century, is a significant site where the Ganga goddess is worshipped.
Day 05: Uttarkashi -Guptkashi(220kms/8-9hr) HT: 1319 MTS.
Drive to Guptkashi, passing the scenic Mandakini River. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and visit the Ardh Narishwar Temple. Guptkashi translates to "Hidden Benares," where it's believed Lord Shiva concealed himself from the Pandavas.
Day 06: Guptkashi - Phata Helipad (10kms) - Kedarnath - Phata (By Helicopter) - Guptkashi
Travel to Phata by helicopter to Kedarnath. Visit the temple, where you can enter the Garbha Griha and touch the idol. Return to Phata and then Guptkashi for an overnight stay. Kedarnath is one of Shiva's twelve Jyotirlingas and holds significant spiritual importance.
Day 07: Guptkashi - Badrinath (215kms/7hr) HT: 3133 MTS.
After breakfast, drive to Badrinath via Joshimath and check into your hotel. In the evening, attend the temple Aarti. Badrinath is a revered pilgrimage site at the foot of the Nar and Narayan ranges.
Day 08: Badrinath - Rudraprayag/Kirtinagar
Morning bathing in Taptkund and visiting significant sites near Badrinath. Later, head back to Rudraprayag/Kirtinagar.
Day 09: Rudraprayag - Rishikesh - Haridwar (160kms/5hr)
Drive to Rishikesh, known for its spiritual significance, visiting temples and sights like Laxman Jhulla, Triveni Ghat, and Bharat Mandir. Finally, transfer to Haridwar Railway Station / Dehradun Airport to conclude your journey.
